LED sign install guide.
A GLI sign takes about 15 minutes to install. Power, hang, pair the app. Here's the full sequence.
What's in the box
- LED sign (15×32″ flagship or your specific SKU)
- UL-listed 12V power adapter with 6-foot cord
- Two-chain mounting kit with adjustable hooks
- Key-fob remote (Bluetooth SKUs)
- Quick-start card with app QR code
Step 1 — Choose the mount point
Most signs mount inside the window, facing out. Pick a spot where:
- A 12V outlet is within ~6 feet (the power cord length).
- The sign won't be touching the window glass directly (thermal expansion).
- The 15×32″ clear of the window frame on all sides by at least 1″.
Step 2 — Install the hooks
The mounting kit includes two ceiling-mount or wall-mount hooks. Drywall anchors aren't included — use the type appropriate for your ceiling material.
- Mark the two mounting points to match the sign's chain spacing (typically 28″ apart for the flagship).
- Pre-drill if needed, install anchors, screw in the hooks.
- Test-pull each hook to confirm load capacity. The sign is ~8 lb.
Step 3 — Hang the sign
Loop the chains over the hooks. Adjust chain length until the sign hangs level. Check level with the included sticker or a phone level app.
Step 4 — Power it up
Plug the 12V adapter into the wall outlet, then connect the barrel plug to the sign. The default mode is “Open” in red. If the sign doesn't power on:
- Confirm the outlet is live (try a phone charger).
- Check the barrel plug is fully seated.
- Confirm the cable isn't pinched behind the sign.
Step 5 — Pair the Bluetooth app (B-suffix SKUs)
If your SKU ends in “B” (GLI1050B, GLI1057B), Bluetooth scheduling is available.
- Download the GLI app from the App Store or Google Play (search “GLI Sign”).
- Power-cycle the sign with the remote or by unplugging for 5 seconds.
- Open the app, tap “Pair new sign,” and follow the on-screen prompts. The sign's name will appear within ~10 seconds.
- Set your default color, mode, and schedule.
